YOUR HOSTS
Chris Swersey and Mary Wright have guided on the Salmon since 1989. They have 2 children, Duncan, age 11, and Connor, age 8. Duncan took his first river trip before he was born and both boys love running the river with mom and dad. Chris and Mary take turns guiding trips so that one of them is always with their guests on the river they love.

Mary has guided Silver Cloud trips since 1990; today she is our menu planner and company "director of fun". She is Board Member of the Salmon Arts Council and has worked for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) on Lewis & Clark related projects.

Chris has guided commercially since 1988. He had a 10-year career as a professional brewmaster, and serves as Competition Manager for the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. He continues to consult and judge for breweries and brewing trade associations. He is the brains on the business side and "chief of fishing". Chris has served on the Advisory Board of the Model Watershed Project, a local group dedicated to the preservation and restoration of wild Steelhead habitat along the headwaters and tributaries of the Salmon River.

Mary and Chris continually search for new beer, wine and food pairings, an effort which makes the off season almost as much fun as the summer rafting season itself.

OUR CREW
Silver Cloud takes pride in having the best crew on the Salmon River. As a group and as individuals, our guides are our most important asset; many have been with Silver Cloud for more than 10 years. Our crew breathes life into our trips and makes them the special vacations they are.

Several of our guides are teachers, one was recently the Idaho Science Teacher of the Year, and many are parents. Lead guide "Vic the Kiwi" Woods competed on the 2001 New Zealand National Rafting Team. Our crew creates mouth-watering meals as well as they maneuver any rapid on the river. All of our guides are articulate, entertaining and concerned about the safety and comfort of your group or family. None of our guides uses tobacco in any form.

Silver Cloud guides make each trip unique by giving interpretive talks about Idaho history, native cultures, wildlife, astronomy, Lewis and Clark in Idaho, fly fishing and many other topics. Our guests have told us time and time again that these programs were the favorite part of their trip with us. Our crew's dedication sets us apart from all other outfitters on the Salmon.
